lucius malfoy is the perfect pureblood man. he's attractive, educated, and he has money. in a lot of people's eyes, he's prince charming. in mine, he's what my parents want. we've been betrothed for as long as i can remember so you can't exactly call it a love story. i believe i was nine when i first met him, maybe a little younger. he was always kind to me and i was always polite to him, and we've grown closer over the years. we compliment each other and he puts his proud arm around my waist, and we even raise our glasses to toast to each other's greatness. i kiss him with cold lips and rest my heavy head on his chest, but still, there isn't a love story. we didn't choose each other, and therefore, we lack raw passion and excitement. i don't know if i could ever learn those traits or if he could teach me, but my mother seems to think so. we don't fight and we don't bicker about anything. he does treat me like a princess, but i can't help but feel bored at times. the thing is, this arranged marriage thing is fine until the time comes to either shit or get off the pot. i've never been one to do what other people choose for me. i either decide i want to be with lucius, or i figure out a way to escape the arrangement. it sounds easier than it will be, yes, but i just need a deciding factor.

from what i hear, i'm the ice queen and hollie is convinced she's just the queen. however, no city is equipped to handle two queens, no matter how completely opposite they are, correct? we're best friends for complete lack of a better word, but we're always competing over everything. however, i don't feel the need to keep score or bring it up. hollie is obsessed with making sure her life looks perfect to society, and i'm fine with that. if that's how she wants to live her life, i'm pleased for her. she has her negative traits but i take her for what she is. we spend a lot of time together and i enjoy her company. even if i do think she's crazy for believeing herself in love with her step-brother, to each their own. i'll always be there to watch her back as i know she'd do the same for me.

quite honestly, i don't understand why i tolerate her. she's a terrible slytherin and i can't stand the girl, but i feel responsible for her well being. before my brother died, he told elyssia that he loved her. i feel as if it is my duty to protect her from any harm or anything that doesn't have her best interest in mind. i hate her as a person and i hate that my brother loved her, but i owe him to watch over her like he surely would have done. i have a soft spot for her, and as much as i wish the spot wasn't there, i honestly don't have a choice. i loved owen and he loved her, therefore, i'm obligated to become her defender.
