in and out of character shout! box rules
this shout! box is for both in-character and out of character chat only. please use the name of whatever character you play.

» 001. anything that happens IC in the shout! box will count for roleplay. however, though you are allowed to converse and play out minor plots with other characters, you still need to roleplay in the boards. this means any major plots need to be brought to a thread.

» 002. the following will be enforced the most. if you are only posting IC in the box and neglecting the roleplay boards, you will simply be banned from the box until you can handle posting as well. we do understand that some things would be easier in the box, or that the box is still entertaining when you have low muse or writers block, but the whole point of a roleplay site is to post in the boards.
we cannot stress enough how important it is to manage both.

» 003. anything that would need a [r] rating in a thread title is not okay in the box. simply excuse your characters for the sex scenes, please.

» 004. if characters don't like each other, they probably won't get along in the box. don't take it personally.

» 005. IC speak in the shout box will consist of mainly conversations between characters, conversations are wonderful. your character giving birth in the box, however, is not. this is something that would need to be taken to a thread.

» 006. even if you have already instant roleplayed something in the box, it's alright to bring the same plot to a thread. the more things done in threads, the merrier.

» 007. threads and board roleplay take priority. the box is for your convenience, enjoyment, and entertainment. not to roleplay everything out in.

» 008. it is not alright for you to post a site link or advertisement. it will be deleted immediately and if you are a member, you will be warned.

» 009. if you feel it is necessary to spam the shout! box, an administrator will feel it is necessary to ban you. end of story.

» 010. though the shout! box is meant to be a friendly and welcoming environment, there will occasionally be content offensive to some. know that upon entering the box you are open to other's thoughts and opinions even if they aren't identical to your own. the administrators will patrolling the box, so it isn't necessary for you to whine.

» 011. as we have chosen to take the filter off the shout! box, there will be the occasional cursing. since no one under the age of thirteen should be on a proboards site in the first place, this shouldn't be a problem. excessive f-bombs, however, aren't necessary.

» 012. the golden rule. this chat box is a privilege we give you. we do not owe you this feature. please don't abuse it. besides, we all hate to use our jam hammers.
