Once you sign up, please head over to your profile and change your name [eg: lilypotter] so that it has proper grammar and spacing [eg: Lily Potter]. If you submit your character sheet before fixing this, you might be denied.
You character's name may not match your face claims first, last, or middle name or the name of a character that said face model has played in a movie/show/ect. NO EXCEPTIONS, UNLESS IT'S A GIVEN CANON PB.
The Admin's reserve the right to ask you to change your celebrity if we feel he or she doesn't fit the character. Sorry. If you feel this is unfair, you may plead your case. Few exceptions.AS A MEMBER
Once you join, please note that this site in unrated so there will be cursing, and violence, among other things. HOWEVER, despite this luxury, I am going to ask you to mark your posts with an [M] or [R] before the thread name if there will be an excessive amount of crude dialogue, ect.
Be active. Do not join, make a character sheet, get accepted, and just leave. Seriously. It's not cool, it's not fun for us, and it's just a waste of time. If you ARE going to be disappearing and you know you'll be away, post in the vacation board.
If you are inactive for a week, without notifying us in the Away Messages, you will lose your character. End of discussion.CHARACTERS
One character per account. I see sites that allow as many as you want on one account and I do not see how that is possible- it seems like too much work to keep up. It won't kill you to switch accounts for each character, I promise.
When making a character, give them faults, give them weaknesses, make them ugly. Not purely ugly, but not amazingly beautiful. Give them scars, blemishes, split ends, a large nose, big feet - SOMETHING that is not usually depicted as 'beautiful' in today's world. In short terms, I do not want to see any Mary-Sues, Gary-Stus, or any other form of the sort. Your character must also be human, no exceptions.
application password: less than three.IMAGES
All avatars are, by default, 100x100.
Signatures shouldn't stretch the page, so no longer than 500. As for height, do not exceed 200. If they get too large people on dial-up will have loading problems and that's not cool.
Also, we do not allow Anime images. Sorry, they're creepy.ROLEPLAYING
This is an advanced rpg. We want all posts to be at least three-four+ paragraphs. It's not hard, really. Paragraphs are only five-six+ sentences long. Inspire yourself and go! I understand writer's block, but seriously, writer's block is never THAT bad. Which means if you are not an advanced RPer 3/4ths of the time we do not want you here.
Posting format is third person, past tense.
Do not place * or - around your actions or spoken words, unless in the ic shout! box. This isn't a chat-roleplay, this is a forum roleplay. We RP as if we are writing a book. Got it?
No god-moding. I hope that you know what this is given that you're joining an advanced RPG. If you don't, I don't want you here, simple as that. I know, mean, but whatever. It's something all RPers should know once they reach the intermediate level, let alone the advanced level.SPOILER WARNING
It's also best that you've actually read the books, especially if you're trying for a canon. However, if you've still not read the books, be aware that there is the possibility for spoilers played out using foreshadowing. Also, since this is future, some things in the plot will not be canon.MAJOR PLOTS
If you would like to have a major plot, you will need to have it approved by an administrator first. For instance, pregnancy, death, etc. If you are unsure as to whether your plot is 'major', please check with us just in case. Also, if you would like, we can add it as a sub-plot, assuming it is, in fact, major. The reason for this is because we cannot have fifteen young women pregnant with children who have no fathers. Please, check first. We'd hate to have to make you stop mid-plot.POSTING LIMITS
Because we are a literate and intermediate roleplay forum, we ask you to follow a 200 word minimum posting length. For your convenience, there is a word count below the posting box; use it. If a staff member notices you aren't following this, you will either be warned, or given a final notice. We understand those off days when writers block effects the ability to roleplay, but if it's happening too many times in a row, perhaps you aren't intermediate material. Really though, 200 words is nothing.BETROTHALS - PUREBLOODS
You will notice that the administrators control the betrothal list. This, however unfortunate, is realistic. In nearly every case, it was up to the parents to decide their child's marriage fate. This only applies to the pureblood characters, especially those in the house of Slytherin. In the plot, you can find the list of betrothals. This will be updated often as we get more pureblood members to randomly match together via our selection process. (picking names out of a hat.) If you don't like who you've been paired with, we appologize, but that is the way things worked out. Please keep things realistic; a child was expected to follow through with the betrothal their parents set up. In special circumstances, extreme measures could be taken to get out of it. Remember, major plots must be checked by an admin.
