'reveal the way you felt when you knew you could look inside'
[/blockquote][/blockquote]At hearing a small hint of playfulness in his voice, a small smile crossed her lips and the pace of her heart steadied. It seemed to get easier by the minute. Though there was still some sense of awkwardness in the air, it was no longer to the point where she felt she could hardly breathe. It was almost as if they were just friends... okay, maybe as if they were friends and one of them had just done something extremely embarrassing, but none the less, it was much better than before. Hell, anything was better than before. Letting her chocolate gaze once again fall on his figure, her eyes met his, and she gave him a sheepish smile, only nodding in response to his comment. She wanted so badly to give him a better answer.. perhaps if she had some time to think. Pausing for a moment again, she let her eyes reluctantly fall from his and Teah looked out over the water. "Maybe it was because you were the only one who rejected me... you made me realize that you can't always get what you want and that what I was doing wasn't the right... Her voice slowly drifted off and she frowned for a moment not sure if that was the correct answer, then she looked back over to him. "I dunno. I'll keep thinking." she said lightly, running her hand through her hair. "That's part of it... but, I do want to some day explain to you why you're special. You deserve it." By then, her smile had brightened a bit and there was no longer a hint of a frown on her lips. Teah Swan looked genuinely happy.
For a moment, she held his gaze. Merlin, she never wanted to look away. Though he didn't look as happy as she was, he was there and he was looking at her. He wasn't yelling, and he wasn't upset. He was just there and talking. They were together and peaceful. For a moment, she was lost in his eyes.. almost forgetting where she was. Those emerald green spheres had such a lovely color. The longer she gazed into his eyes, the more she felt she understood him. Some people said that eyes were like windows to someone's soul. That if you looked close enough, you could see their emotions... what they were feeling at that exact moment. At that moment, Teah felt that she was almost at that point but then the connection was quickly lost when he looked away and down towards his hand where his fingers sifted gently through the sand. Without even realizing it, she let out a sigh of disappointment and turned her attention back to the waves. by now the sky was filled with an array of colors, mostly those of oranges and yellows, though higher up in the sky there were a few clouds of purple, creating a perfect sunset.
Laying back on her hands, she closed her eyes for a moment and took a deep breath in. It was only when he spoke did she look back over at him. For several moments, she was silent. Oh how she wished he could remember what it felt like. from what she could see in his eyes that very night, he had looked so happy.. and free. For once he didn't care about his homework or quidditch. He just seemed so free. Casting a half smile in direction, she sighed slightly. "I really with there was some way I could help you remember." her voice faded gently again as she tilted her head. "You looked so happy. You were just letting yourself have fun and you weren't worrying about anything else." With that, she shrugged slightly and combed her hair to one side of her head. Again her eyes glazed over and she smiled slightly again. "I want to see you happy like that again.. and I want to be the one to make you that happy."
Merlin, she was gushing. Never before had someone been able to make her blush such a color, but as she sat here with Elliot, her cheeks were as red as a tomato. She never told anyone things like this. That she wanted to be the one to make them happy, or that she wanted to be theirs and theirs alone. It just hadn't been in her character. Teah wasn't one to settle down, but there was something about Elliot that made her want to be a one man woman. She knew that if she got this chance... if he gave her this chance to be with him, that she wouldn't turn on him and run. She wouldn't hurt him. She didn't have it in her. He didn't deserve that. He deserved the best and that was what she was determined to give him. Now, if she had thought she couldn't go any pinker, she was dead wrong, because the moment he spoke again, she lit up in both her eyes and her cheeks and chanced a look over at him. Did he really just call her pretty? Meeting his gaze for a brief moment, she took note of the flush in his cheeks and a small giggle escaped her mouth. He looked mortified! Was he really that embarrassed from calling her pretty? Boldly moving a bit closer, she placed a gentle kiss on cheek, then without another word moved back to where she was sitting and looked back out at the sunset, smiling gently.
All of this... sitting here with him. She no longer felt guilty about anything. If he could forgive her for everything she's done, then perhaps she could eventually forgive herself, in time of course. But as of now, she was just thinking in the moment and the moment was perfect. The both of them were seemingly happy, relaxing on the beach and the tension was easing as the minutes passed. What more could she ask for? As long as she didn't go and say something to ruin it, it was looking more and more like she was going to get a chance. She could only imagine what their relationship would be like when- if they ended up in one. Never having on herself, she could only guess. With Elliot, she was determined to take things slow. She wasn't going to jump his bones the first chance she got and she certainly wasn't going to be all over him every minute of the day. No, she was going to let things go as they may. She was going to let him take charge. She would let him take her hand for the first time, pull in for the first kiss... then who know knows what would happen, but at this point, she wasn't looking that much ahead. She was just paying attention to the now.
Still giggling slightly, she tried to brush the sand off of her body and comb it out of her dark hair, though her eyes never left him. "Sorry." she muttered again. "I guess I just got a little over excited." Again she couldn't speak without giggling even more, and she did feel a bit bad for knocking him over, but she just couldn't help it. Those few words had made her so happy. She really was giving her a chance. That was all she wanted and she was determined not to screw it up. For several moments, she waited, trying desperately not to laugh as he straightened himself out, however, when he spoke, her eyes went wide and she clapped her hands over her mouth. It was only when he burst into laughter did she join him. Well this was certainly unexpected, but definitely not unwelcome. Soon enough, she was laughing to the point where tears were streaming down her face and she could hardly breathe. "Ooh Merlin.." she muttered softly through her laughter. Now this was what she was talking about. Seeing him laughing like this.. so happy.. it was amazing.
