it had been a while since james last saw hugo and rose. gosh, what had been the last day he had even saw victoire? not that he hung out with victoire, but yet he missed all of his friends. it may have possibly been before the winter holidays he had seen those friendly faces. however, the night was young, and the air was freezing. james headed out the door to the jitters cafe, possibly to get some butter beer to warm up his throat. james felt a bit out of place. he hadn't owled his family in over a month, and hadn't talked to his friends for possibly three weeks. there seemed to be a gaping hole in his life at the moment. and the stress to mail his family, and to search for his friends was paining him.
james bundled up, putting on his warmest robes, layering in socks and pants. he slipped on his warm jacket, and his slipped a vibrant, maroon hat over his hair, and over top of his ears. warm and protected against the horrible cold winds, james ducked his chin into the neck of his jacket and began to walk further down the street. not to mention classes, they were getting harder. tests were coming up, and it was like N.E.W.T's all over again. it was like hell on earther. james coughed a bit, the wind blowing off his jacket's hood, and he winced as the icy blast of snow and air whipped him the face. his face turning a shade in between crimson and pink, he slid his hood over the back of his head again.
a few more steps, and yes, finally. james stepped through the glass door and into the pleasant little cafe. it was quiet, not many people were in there. no teachers. james was planning on having a butterbeer when it turned out fire whiskey was 'today's special, only one knut!' james grinned. what a deal. his rosy cheeks pinched into a smirk as he pulled out his money. he put two little coins on the counter. "two fire whiskey's please," james offered a smile to the short man behind the counter, but he denied it with a grunt. the man took james' money and headed to the kitchen doors. short moments later, he came back out with two fizzing, hot drinks in his hands. james licked his lips and took them, heading off to a small table by the window.
the taste of heaven sparked his lips. this was his way of getting away from any trouble he had. james chuckled softly to himself, sipping the fire whiskey slowly. it had been more then a half an hour since he got served his drinks. he wasn't even half done his first glass. james drank and drank, slopping the remaining of the first fire whiskey down his chin, dripping on his good jacket. feeling more tipsy then ever, james didn't even look at his other fire whiskey. it didn't take a lot to lose james' soberness. james sipped his other fire whiskey down in a few minutes, ignoring his tipsy feeling.
the black haired boy stumbled over to the man before the counter. the man gave him a large, not a small. james looked at him blankly. the small man blinked repetitively, and ran through the kitchen door, afraid of james. james swaggered on and went behind the counter, mimicking the small man. james descended onto his knees, laughing. he peeked over the counter, just being able to see. "oh hi, im short and bauld!" he shouted loudly, as people entered, but spun around to leave. james moved his hands throughout his hair. "where'd my hair go, wait! i have none!" james giggled like a school girl, and just kind of slumped over the counter.
